Quilting for a Cause

I know quilters like to share their work. If you are interested in donating your work to a worthy organization, you may find something of interest on the following list.

Quilts of Honor of SE Wisconsin. Two groups meet on the following dates at Ye Old Schoolhouse Quilt Shop, 318 Green Bay Rd, Cedarburg, WI. Third Wednesday of the month 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Fourth Saturday of the month 10:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Drop in when you can--stay as long as you like. Potluck lunch on both days. There is another group that meets in Williams Bay, WI on the second Tuesday of the month, 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Potluck dinner. Contact Ellen Weber at weberhaus@charter.net for location. Quilters of all experience levels are welcome. Anyone interested should contact Tink Linhart at tinklinhart@gmail.com for information and to be added to the e-mail list for updates.

Project Linus. This organization gives quilts to children suffering from critical illnesses. For more information see http://www.projectlinus.org/.

Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative. This organization sells completed quilts on line to raise money for Alzheimer's research. Please see http://www.alzquilts.org/ for information regarding quilt donations. Also, please note the executive director's message as this initiative is ceasing as of December 31, 2013. So, if you would like to help them reach their goal of $1,000,000.00 by the end of the year, now would be the time to send them a quilt.
